The Graduate

I just watched this 1967 movie. The Graduate is one of the best Romantic Dramas i have watched so far. Its about a fresh graduate who is confused about his future. Then he is seduced by his father's bussiness partener's wife and he ends up having an affair with her. The Graduate ( Ben ) then falls in real love with this woman's daughter -Elaine. The rest of the film is about how he tries to convince Elaine about his love and what he does to get her love. The Graduate is fun to watch and it rightly falls into the genre of Comedy also. I had thought i would write only about technical things in this blog. But i have no such fundae anymore. Moreover i watched this from my office... Some of the other Good movies i watched this week - "Wicker Park", "Crash". Not so great one - "Mon tresor" ( a hebrew movie ) Bad one - "See the Sea" ( a french movie )

I remember watching "The Graduate" years ago, on a tape my dad had hiddenfrom his impressionable kids:) Kind of a strange introduction to the legend that is Hoffman. And yeah, "Mrs. Robinson" is easily one of my favourite songs :D

And movies in the office?! Neato.

I got this bit off Wiki :
Mr. McGuire: "I want to say one word to you. Just one word."
Ben Braddock: "Yes, sir."
Mr. McGuire: "Are you listening?"
Ben Braddock: "Yes, I am."
Mr. McGuire: "Plastics."

Mr. Braddock: "Don't you think that idea is a little half-baked?"
Benjamin Braddock: "Oh no, Dad, it's completely baked."

Hawhawhaw.

"Mrs Robinson" is also in my hit list. I loved the track for its pleasant tune but after watching the movie the context of the song made the lyrics even more meaningful and funny.

Other thing i liked about the movie is Ben's role - the look that he carries throughout the movie.
